Parking for the River Cruise

Our River Cruise is on July 30, the first day of Yankee Homecoming week in Newburyport, which means there will be lots to do and see if you would like to spend the day or evening in Newburyport.

Because Yankee Homecoming week is so popular, ensure that you plan plenty of time to find parking and walk to the Waterfront Promenade Park.

Parking options include:

Downtown Public Parking Lots in Newburyport ($1/hour):

NRA West Lot and WFT Lot located at Promenade Park

NRA East Lot, further down Merrimac Street, just past Market Square, toward Plum Island, on the water

Green Street Lot, Pleasant and Green Street (3-hour limit)

Prince Place Lot, Hale’s Court and Prince Place (3-hour limit)

State Street Lot, State Street and Harris Street.

On-street parking, throughout town, no charge, but some locations have two-hour limits.

Cashman Park, along the waterfront, Merrimac Street and Sally Snyder Way (this is a boat launch area and public parking is available). About a 15- minute walk along the waterfont to Promenade Park.

The Newburyport T-station. Boston Way (near the Route 1 traffic circle).  This is about a 1.5 mile walk to the Waterfront and there is a walking path along what used to be railroad tracks. A shuttle bus to downtown is also available.

Bridge Marina, 180 Bridge Street, Salisbury. From Newburyport, Bridge Marina is right over the Route 1 bridge, on the left. There is a walkway over the bridge to Newburyport. About a 15-minute walk to Promenade Park.  Bridge Marina General Manager, Kristen, said she will be there to authorize parking, or tell whoever is there that Kristen approved parking for the Merrimack River Watershed Council Cruise.
