Join Our Board
We’re looking for a few good people to join our Board of Directors.
We are especially interested in individuals of diverse backgrounds who live in Massachusetts or New Hampshire. Those with flexible schedules, particularly the recently retired, may find this a particularly attractive opportunity—as well as those with expertise in fundraising, community engagement, business management, the financial world, and, of course environmental policy and science.
Directors draw on their professional experience and a passion for river stewardship to provide general guidance to our staff and to oversee our mission—conserving the Merrimack River and its watershed for people and for wildlife, and enhancing public access to river-related activities. MRWC is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.
We are a working Board, which means that Board members attend a monthly meeting, and occasional meetings (often by phone) of one or two of the Board’s committees. We also help with fundraising. Board members serve as volunteers.
If this opportunity is of interest, we’d be delighted to hear from you. To discuss this further, please contact our executive director, Rusty Russell, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617.515.9522.
